Crispy Christmas Surf Session

When are you a real surfer? - I was once asked!!! - hard to say, is it when you prove your self by aiming for Big wave Surfing?, is it the competitive type who goes for a the best results, or is it when a person who are willing to sacrifice everything for a good day out there?

I can tell for sure, but if I have to come up with something, I believe a real surfer is a person who really goes for some "soul surfing" - which in my perspective means a person who "live, breathe and sleep surfing" - it becomes a life style, something you can't let go of. Every time the conditions are perfect, a restless feeling pumps in your veins, a feeling that can lead to drastic consequences in your life.

I remember once back in my days as a "surf nutcase" - a heavy Low were moving in from the North Sea, we had perfect conditions, strong SW winds, good swell, getting bigger all the time. I simply had to go surfing, so I called my boss to get the day of. I had already found a replacement for my job that day, and he said "no way"!!! (he was a totally jerk anyway!!) - so I just said goodbye "Boss-dude" and quit my job instantly - and of course I had a super surf session, one of those I'll never forget.

So when Vince called me and asked me if i was interested in shooting some pic's of him and his good friend Anders, Christmas day i had to say "but of course"!!!

I was frezzng cold - minus 10 with a heavy wind chill factor, and lot's of ice and snow all over.

We meet up early in the morning, then drove of to the surf spot. Here is a little photo essay from this epic and very "Crispy Christmas Surf Session" - and let there be no doubt this is what I call real surfers.

Zot Movie Festival dedicated to extreme sports

Here is a short film created for the Zot Movie Festival, dedicated to extreme sports. It's really nice made and for me this is the real thing, when it comes to making a superb surf movie.

The film was shot from January to July 2010 in Reunion island at different surf locations: St Pierre/ La Tortue/ 03 Roches/ Les Brisants.

A big tribute to the following riders who made this film possible: Maxime Huscenot/ Christophe Allary/ Charly Chapelet/ Laury Grenier/ Olivier Marimoutou/ Hugo Dubosc/ Adrien Rapp and others.

DMI - we are watching you!!!

This one is looking pretty solid, but you never know when it comes to DMI (Dumb, Mad & Insane!!)

If I were still out there having fun, I would focus on Tylesand /Sweden Thursday and the North coast/DK Friday!! - I will follow it closely, and if it all comes together, I will of course shoot a session out there.

Here we go again - Friday looks brilliant!!

Hope DMI doesn't fuck up again, because this 5 day prognoses looks like Friday could be one of those days...

What a joke, DMI what the hell is going on????

Sometimes you spend a lot of time driving, driving, and driving some more just to get a bit of wind and waves - today was just a joke, DMI what the hell is going on, you have equipment for millions and yet you can't predict anything - instead of a solid low pressure, we just got a "little fart"out there.

DMI - I'm so disappointed - but it's NOT the first time, so shape up you guy's!!!

It is going to be an interesting day today - a low is moving in!!!

Here is some screen dumps from DMI 5 min ago, and it is looking GREAT for 2 o'clock this afternoon - I will of course be there making a "photo shoot" of "tha' Boyz" in action!!! :O)

7 o'clock - still a bit to southeren direction

.....and for 2 o'clock - now we are talking!!!!!

...and here is one for Klitmøller - it's going to be huge up there with waves up to 5 meters - I'm sure they are going to have a ball up there today - I'm living the wrong place today!!!!.

Mark - "my name brother"!! - was a huge inspiration for me when I were able to windsurf, then he disappeared from the surf scene for many years, but now his is back with a clew-first wave 360 - so don't tell me that "old dudes" can't show some great style.

Cold Hawaii Vol. 3 - 15 september 2010

Well here sis day no. 3 from the amazing Cold Hawaii PWA world cup event held in Klitmøller in the Northern part of Denmark.

Weather conditions were getting better and better for this epic event, and day number 3 were no exception, it simply doesn't get any better. The guy's were stocked and showed some amazing style out there. So I hope you will enjoy this photo session from day no. 3 - here it is!!
